We need more power.

A 4AA battery holder from Radio Shack fits snuggly. The wires come out of the plastic holder on left side of the picture. The lid seems to work best if you run the wires under the box and put them toward the hinge side of the tin.

I’ve cut the positive wire short and soldered it to the center terminal of the switch. the remainder of the wire is soldered to the right terminal. At this point it’s a good idea to test to see which of he 20 gauge wires is positive and which is negative. Drop in 4 rechargable, or near dead alkaline batteries. DO NOT use fresh alkaline batteries as these can be too much voltage for the LEDs. Check the voltage with a meter to be sure. The LEDs I used are rated for 4.5V continuous, so they should handle 5V fo a bit. Turn the switch on and touch the black and red wires to the 20 gauge wires. If the LEDs don’t light, switch the wires around.
